Comprehensive Eye Examinations

Dr. Charlene Haynes uses the latest technology to deliver comprehensive eye examinations above and beyond the standard expectations of the Optometry Board. With each medical comprehensive eye examination she conducts a detailed evaluation of the health of your eyes, thorough vision testing, and advanced prescription assessment.

During your eye health exam you will receive a variety of tests not routinely found in all “eye exams”. The OCT-Angiography instrument can detect macular degeneration, glaucoma and many other ocular pathologies before symptoms occur. We also use Clarus Retinal Imaging to monitor retinal health. Humphrey’s Visual Field testing is performed along with ocular pressures and pachymetry. For contact lens wearers, a Corneal Topographer will map the surface of your cornea to enhance the fitting process. A complete slit lamp examination will evaluate anterior structures of the eye and a dilation will provide views of any posterior abnormalities of the retina. After Dr. Haynes completes your refraction, she will review all results of your exam.

It is important to have a comprehensive eye exam every 12 months. Good visual acuity does not ensure a healthy eye. Glaucoma and other eye disease sometimes show no visual symptoms until later stages, therefore, early detection is essential. Systemic diseases such as Hypertension, Diabetes, Arthritis and autoimmune disorders also have ocular complications.

Lasik Eye Surgery

If you are interested in having Lasik Eye Surgery please let our staff know. Dr. Haynes co-manages the procedure and we have had success after success! Her conservative approach ensures that only the best candidates proceed with any type of eye surgery with only the most experienced surgeons. During your eye exam be sure to mention your interest in Lasik as there are some extra measurements and tests that need to be performed. If it has been over 12 months since your last comprehensive eye exam or if you are experiencing changes in your vision, contact us today!
